Programs & Events
Something special all year round.

Phillips Public Library offers a variety of events and programs throughout the year, designed for patron entertainment and community engagement. Annual fundraisers like the Ticket Auction and Duck Derby brings people together for fun, festivities and support for library programs. Our Thrift Store and Book Shop is open to patrons and community members from May to October.

Ticket Auction

The Ticket Auction is held every April with hundreds of household items and treasures that have been donated to the library. Place a ticket in the corresponding bag and you could be a winner!

Duck Derby

During the Duck Derby, rubber ducks race down the Sandy River! The first 15 duck to cross the finish line win prizes. The race is held during the Phillips Old Home Days in August.

Tree Festival

Our Tree Festival lets businesses and individuals decorate a tree for the holidays. Place a ticket at the tree of your choice for a chance to be a winner!

Readers, Writers & Runners 5k

The Readers, Writers and Runners 5k is a true 5k held in July. Each year, a Maine author is invited as our guest speaker after the run has finished.

Additional Events

With our Seed Sharing Program, community members can access free vegetables, herbs and flowers - take some, bring some! Come back next year with seeds from your harvest!

Every Wednesday in July, a new theme is chosen for our Summer Reading Program. Keep your reading skills sharp with games, programs and prizes!
